New mediums, new life

I live among the clouds.  Where hearts are warmer and I can explore the depths of what the present holds.  It's easier to see when thoughts are open to listening.  Join me if you wish, but leave your burdens with your physical world.  There's no space for emptiness here.

I had a really anxious day the other day, for no reason in particular.  I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to be doing, though I always manage to fill my daily plate.  Eventually, I just started drawing, then painting, and it turned into this.  As soon as I started the anxiety lifted, and I got this subtle message in my head - "Oh, this is what I was supposed to be doing."  To fellow artists, and that really means all of us: don't ignore the signs.  When you've gotta create, you've gotta create.  To forget this instinct is to be eternally haunted by your own creative conscious!  Anyway, I also wrote the little story about this piece.

Walnut ink with brown and white conte on top.

Willow charcoal, my new favourite gesture medium.

Studies are my favourite recently.  Why capture a little of everything when you can capture a lot of just one thing.  I don't know why I always feel compelled to fit in the whole pose.

This was a meaningful update.  Lot's of changes, as there always will be.

  2. Thanks Paul! I always love and appreciate your kind comments. Interesting saying how it's skies, I mean I guess it is... but in what world? Haha, thanks for the stimulating thought.
